Congratulations to all the students who participated at the IHSA State Solo & Ensemble Competition this past weekend. Dunlap was well represented and ended the day in 4th place in the Class A series. Organizational contest scores will be added in April to determine our final placement.
Special shout out to the following DHS Chorus students who received a “Best of Day Award” - Hannah Gross for her solo event “Silent Noon” and the DHS Court Singers, including Brittany Holshouser, Laher Oberoi, Liz Burton, Erin Koch, Paige Wurtzbacher, Elisa Jensen, Gianna Colombo, Elsa Meiss, Alex Ruth, Lexy Buckley, Callie Aten, Angela Perez, Kay Michelet, and Hannah Gross, for their Chamber Choir event “Lift Thine Eyes”.
Additionally, a big congratulations to DHS freshman, Amy Zhou, who has been selected as the 2016 winner of the Prairie Wind Ensemble Earl Barnes Student Soloist Competition. Principal clarinetist with the Dunlap Wind Ensemble, Amy competed on President’s Day against other local high school musicians to be the featured soloist with the Prairie Wind Ensemble. Amy will perform Messager’s Solo de Concours with the Prairie Wind Ensemble on their concert, Friday, May 13th at the Performing Arts Center at Illinois Central College. Way to go Amy, we are proud of you!!
