Please join us for the final Music & Theatre Booster meeting for the school year.  The meeting is Tuesday, May 2 at 7:00 pm in the DHS Town Center.  We'll be voting on the slate of officers & chairs for the 2017-2018 school year.  All parents are members of the Boosters and all members are eligible to vote on the slate of officers.  We will also be voting on proposed By-law change that will establish the Boosters as a 501-c3 organization.  Both the slate of officers & the proposed By-law change details are listed here for your information.   We hope to see you at the meeting!

Revision to DHS Music & Theater Boosters Bylaws
 
Dunlap Community Unit School District now requires all volunteer organizations to independently secure 501c3 tax exempt status.  In accordance with this new requirement, the Music and Theater Boosters officers have assembled a plan to achieve 501c3 status before the end of the current school year.  One of the steps is to revise our bylaws to include the required tax exempt statements.  The revision below has the support of the boosters board members and will be formally voted on at the May 2 meeting.

Saturday, April 22 is the annual IHSA Organizational Contest.  Following is the bus & performance schedules for the specific ensembles that are participating:

​Wind Ensemble - Bus leaves at 7:00 am, Performance time is 9:00 am, Bus returns at about 11:30 am
Orchestra - Bus leaves at 7:00 am, Performance time is 10:00 am, Bus returns at about 11:30 am
Women's Chorale - Bus leaves at 9:00 am, Performance time is 10:40 am, Bus returns at about 1:00 pm
​Show Choir - Bus leaves at 9:00 am, Performance time is 11:20, Bus returns at about 1:00 pm

The dates have been set for the 2017 Varsity Band Camp and information sent via email to parents.  Registration for the 2017 season is due in the DHS office with payment by May 19th.  This year's dates are Jul 31 - Aug 4 for the full band.  In addition, the Drumline, Front Ensemble & Color Guard will have camp the week of Jul 17-21.  Please see the information packet for details.

The Annual Fine Arts Night is just around the corner on Fri, Apr 21 and we are once again providing a fabulous dessert buffet as part of the evening.  We are asking parents to help provide the desserts & beverages, as well as to help with set up, serving & clean up.  Our chairperson, Linda Smith, has set up a volunteer sign up that has all the details of what we need.  Just click the button below & it will take you to our SignUp.com site where you can sign up for one or more slots.  Please remember the more donations we receive, the less we take from the ticket sales to cover our costs, and the more money goes back to support all the organizations involved in the Fine Arts Night.  Thank you for your help!

The Music & Theatre Boosters approved a new fundraising program last month that partner's with the new Schnuck's grocery store on North Knoxville Ave.  The program is similar to the Kroger Rewards program where shoppers obtain a My Schnucks Card, link the card the Music & Theatre Boosters, and shop.  The Boosters will receive a percentage of every purchase made using the shoppers card.  It's a great way to support the Boosters by doing what you usually do each week, buy groceries!

​The monthly meeting of the Music & Theatre Boosters is this Tuesday, April 4 at 7 pm in the Town Center at DHS.  We have many events coming up at the end of the year, so please come see how you can help!
