Band Descriptions:

Varsity Marching Band - Composed of sophomores, juniors and seniors, this band starts practicing during the summer to prepare for fall competitions.  Their competition routine is honed to perfection and displayed at home football games.  The competitions take place in September and October.

Cadet Marching Band - Freshman students learn the fine points of marching band in this unit.  This prepares them well for the challenges ahead in Marching Band.  Once marching season is over, the Cadet Band becomes one of the three concert bands.

Concert Band - The Dunlap Concert Bands perform throughout the school year and compete in state competition.  The Dunlap concert band program is respected throughout the state as is reflected in its numerous IMEA and All-State musicians.  Students in the varsity level band are divided into a wind ensemble and a symphonic band, and the cadet band forms the third concert band.

Pep Band - The Dunlap Pep Bands perform for home basketball games.

Jazz Band - The Dunlap Jazz Bands perform throughout the school year and competes in state competition.
