Ms. Jen Reece, Director
Jen Reece, a native of New Providence, Iowa, received her Bachelor’s degree in 1991 from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois, and is currently pursuing her Masters of Music Education from Illinois State University. Ms. Reece’s teaching career has included both classroom and choral music education in the Washington, Limestone, and East Peoria school districts. In the Fall of 2001, she assumed the duties as Director of Choral Activities in the Music Department at Dunlap High School. Her choirs have performed across central Illinois, in New York City, Boston, and this coming summer will sing at the Air Force Academy Chapel in Colorado Springs. An active member in IMEA, ACDA, and NAfME, Ms. Reece served as Choral Representative for IMEA District #2 and has directed both the IMEA Junior Women’s and Mixed Choruses across the state. She is also a frequent adjudicator for IESA, IGSMA and IHSA. Ms. Reece has been honored in numerous editions of “Who’s Who in America Teachers” and also received recognition in 2001 from the Walt Disney American Teacher Awards for excellence in education. She is an organist and church choir director at a local church and is a frequent soloist for the Peoria Area Civic Chorale. Jen and her son, Aaron, reside in the Dunlap area.
