The first Music Booster's meeting of the 2015-2016 school year is tomorrow, Sep 1, at 7:00pm in the Town Center at DHS. All parents of Band, Chorus, Orchestra & Theater students are encouraged to attend and participate in the boosters. It takes a lot of support to run a successful music & theater program, so please join us!

Auditions were held last night for “T.B.A.”. We had a great turn out and have some very talented young men at DHS! Congratulations to all who auditioned!!!

2:00 pm Trailer loaders, chaperones should arrive; begin loading trailers 3:00 pm Buses Leave 4:00 pm Arrive at Washington HS – eat dinner, unload trailers, put together props, put uniforms on 6:44 pm Performance 9:30 pm Awards 10:45 pm Return to DHS – unload trailers; have rides ready for pick-up Students are to bring their own money to purchase dinner at the concessions stand. Everyone is expected to help unload trailers upon return to DHS. Please have rides ready for pick up once everything is unloaded. There have been two cancellations in the Varsity Marching Band schedule as follows:
1) The Band Retreat on Saturday, August 29 2) The Mid-Illini Marching Festival on Monday, September 14 These events have been removed from the Google Band Calendar. You may remove them from your personal calendar as well. The DHS Marching Eagles spirit wear is ready to order. Please download the order form, make your selection and return with payment to Ms. Potts. Two orders will be placed - the first on Aug. 31 and the second on Sep. 14. Order your spirit wear today & show your support for the Marching Eagles!
Show your support for your student by purchasing a yard sign with their name imprinted. Signs are $20 each and proceeds go to the Music Boosters. Signs can be ordered for all aspects of the music program: Band, Chorus, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Color Guard, Madrigals, Court Singers, Show Choir, or Music. The deadline for ordering is Wednesday, August 26. Just download the order form below, complete & send with payment to Ms. Potts or Ms. Reece.
Theater Director Robin Hunt will be holding a "read-through" of this year's fall play, "13 Past Midnight" on Tuesday, August 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the DHS Auditorium. All students interested in auditioning are encouraged to attend. Auditions will be held THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - AUGUST 17, and Tuesday, August 18 from 3:45 - 6:00 p.m. Student need only attend one audition night. Call backs will be held, if needed. Please bring the completed Audition Form (see attached form) to the audition. Show Dates for "13 Past Midnight" are Thursday, October 1 and Friday October 2 at 7:00 p.m. For additional information about the theater schedule, see the attached schedule or check out the Theater tab.
