The Dunlap High School Marching Eagles are one of the largest and most successful marching bands in central Illinois. The Marching band program consists of two marching bands and prepares two field shows during the marching season.
The Upper Level Band is a competitive marching and concert band for sophomores, juniors and seniors.
Varsity Band Camp is a five day long all-day camp during which the new show routine and music is taught and practiced is held in early August. The Varsity Band also holds evening practices starting in the summer and lasting through the final competition.Camp culminates with a performance on Friday afternoon. Parents are encouraged to attend this performance.
Fall Season typically starts the last weekend in August with a parade. The band plays at every home football games. Most Saturdays in September and October find the band at a field competition.
Band Retreat is typically a Saturday during the season that is very similar to a band camp day. The time is used to polish the show.
The Cadet Band is for students who are new to DHS desiring an opportunity for marching band instruction (this includes Freshmen).
Cadet Band Camp, typically held in late July, is a five day long half-day camp designed to introduce students to the rigors of learning a marching show. Camp culminates with a performance on Friday afternoon. Parents are encouraged to attend this performance.
Fall Season The Cadet Band marches in the parades with the Varsity Band. They also march at a couple sophomore football games and compete in one to two field competitions.
